Antelope Island Engagements + Backyard Weddings for the Saratan's

This posts theme: Nothing can rain on my parade. Now, keep reading. Introducing the Saratan's... Meet Phoebe and Trenton.

"Our wedding day was a “go with the flow” type of day, everything that could’ve possibly gone wrong… did. The rentals were an hour late, they forgot items, my makeup artist canceled on me, Trenton’s mother and family almost missed their flight by going to the wrong airport, and it poured rain even though the weather report said “0-10% chance of rainfall”. With that being said it was also one of the most magical and surreal days of my life. Trenton said, “I just loved everything. Not even the rain could ruin our day”. – Phoebe Saratan, Bride

I was so excited Phoebe asked me to do their engagements, bridals, and wedding day. I think it is so important to establish a connection and friendship with clients. When they give me the opportunity to work with them multiple times before the wedding day, I am able to connect with them and learn about how they interact. Not to mention the groom will typically warm up to a camera in his face after one or two shoots. Also, who wants a complete stranger stalking them on their wedding day? Not me.. So brides and grooms, take that into consideration if you are looking at multiple photographers! Connect to get real emotion. :)

Engagements at Antelope Island... This is a state park in Utah and you get eaten alive by tiny bugs. haha But, it is very worth it. They stuck it out with me and my fiance/assistant :)

Phoebe and Trenton's first look was at the Startup Building in Provo. It was so cute with the soft lights and we had this big room to ourselves. I love the way first looks excites the couple. It makes me excited and also nervous because I don't want to be the one to mess it up haha! Take a look at these sweet moments.

Last but not least, the wedding day!!! These cuties started the afternoon off with a ceremony to tie the knot with their closest friends and family in Pleasant Grove, UT. Then, we headed to a super cute backyard and... yes it got rained out. Utah has the most bipolar weather known to man. So even though it was a bummer, they were able to move tables into a garage and under a tent so they could party on! Phoebe got told probably 19837 times that rain is good luck on the wedding day! Hahah So that's good. She and Trenton were such champs through it all keeping smiles on their faces and the guests had a blast too! Good thing she had a rad leather jacket to rock since it was a little chilly! Note to brides: don't let rain stop you from having the best time. <3
